No. This is Noticing Without Fixing. In many models, you are taught to "fix" your thoughts. In this framework, "fixing" is just another high-energy Control loop. Repetitive thoughts are often just "echoes" of old safety concerns. By noticing them and doing nothing, you provide a "done" signal to the fixer. This non-intervention is a profound safety signal to the Threat system, proving that you are safe enough to have "un-fixed" thoughts.
Paradoxically, they usually get "thinner." Thoughts gain weight from the attention and "effort" we give them. When you stop trying to fix the repetition, the loop loses its metabolic fuel. It’s like a bell that has been struck; if you stop hitting it (by trying to change it), the vibration eventually dies out on its own.
