Frequently Asked Questions

How do I turn off my "standards" for a while?

You don't "turn them off"; you "de-activate" the evaluative mode. Standards are useful for work, but they are a burden for presence. In this model, we reduce the "evaluative load" by deciding that this specific moment is "non-graded." By explicitly acknowledging that no standards are being applied, the Status & Control system can stand down. This allows the Narrative system to process the experience for its "density" rather than its "quality" or "value."

Can I still be a good person without high standards?

Yes. In the Meaning Density Model™, "goodness" is a byproduct of coherence and regulation, not a result of meeting internal metrics. When you are regulated and your loops are closing, you naturally act with integrity. High standards often create a "pressure loop" that leads to fragmentation and "acting out." By reducing the evaluative mode, you actually become more stable and authentic, as your behavior is driven by "settlement" rather than "fear of failure."
