Numb–Crave–Crash Cycle
Understand the modern craving loop.
Desire resets again.
Progress returns to zero
without asking.
This reset
is built into the loop.
Seeing it clearly
slows the impulse
to start over
immediately.

Desire resets quickly because the Reward system is designed for survival, which requires constant scanning for new resources. In a world of infinite digital triggers, the "reset" happens faster than our ability to integrate. Recognizing the "reset" as a biological pulse reduces escalation. You realize you don't need to "solve" the desire every time it appears; you just need to recognize that the pulse has started again.
You prevent escalation by "delaying the response." When you recognize the reset, don't act on it immediately. Observe the "pulse" of the desire and let it peak and fade. By not feeding every reset, you teach your brain that the "want" is not a "need." This lowers the overall velocity of your pursuit system, allowing you to find a more stable and less exhausting rhythm for your daily life.
