This is the "Habit of Default Self-Judgment." It is an automated scan performed by the Status system to identify potential social or personal risks. By naming this as a "habitual scan" rather than "accurate reflection," you soften the impact. It is a legacy safety mechanism that has become over-sensitive in the hyper-evaluative modern environment.
Practice "Signal Recognition." When you notice a fault-finding thought, simply label it: "Default scan active." You aren't trying to find a "positive" thought to replace it; you are simply witnessing the habit. This creates a Structural Exit. Over time, as you refuse to engage with the fault-finding as a "command," the reflex loses its velocity and your attention can settle elsewhere.
